Thank you Elton John for saying what we’re all thinking…

This week the legendary and infamous sir Elton John attacked reality TV and pop music, calling it “…all crap.” (Link Here)  Well, you can’t really argue with that (or a man with the middle name Hercules) now can you… Could we be living in the dark ages of entertainment? I might have to agree, at least when concerning music and television these days. I have one name for you… Justin Bieber (Click here for a video of him being booed at a Knicks game, slightly harsh but I was somewhat amused). “Baby, baby, baby, oh” I rest my case… Thankfully, I have found an escape: living in New York City where you can go and see some brilliant artists show off their works. A few recent highlights for my senses have included seeing The Blue Pages rock the Bowery Electric, Nini & Ben serenade all of Rockwood Musical Hall, and the photographic and video performance work of the group Triiibe at the Dodge Gallery mesmerize all that happened to venture in. It was like a breath of fresh air that gave me hope for humanity, and I highly suggest you check out all with the links included.

On a lighter note, a Chinese artist has taken the game Bear-Ninja-Cowboy (Don't Know the Game?  Click Here!) to a whole new level, after seeing his favorite choice for the game (the Ninja) mauled by his opponent (the Bear). Artist Liu Bolin decided it was time to take the Ninja under his wings and teach him the ways of stealth through a series of camouflage pictures (Check it out here!). It has been reported, but not confirmed, that Mr. Bolin has also now been contacted by various other clients hoping to up their camouflaging techniques, including Waldo of the famed “Where’s Waldo.”

And the mother of all links, THE PUPPY BOWL! Who’s excited? This guy!!! (Just don’t tell my cat Sammy)  To all those interested, you can check out The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet at 3pm on Superbowl Sunday.  It's the cutest thing to hit television since The Olsen Twins (yeah, I said it...)
Here’s a link to the Puppy Bowl VI starting lineup!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming Desmond’s Tavern Show on February 26th at11pm in Midtown Manhattan with special guests Jeff Smidt and Matt Brogan from A Face For Radio. It’s looking to be a great show with 6 (that’s right, 6!!!) new never before heard songs. This is a show not to be missed!
